TO GOD BE THE GLORY, THE HONOR, AND ALL THE PRAISE.

THANKSGIVING & CHRISTMAS FOR ALL

James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life“.

Psalm 106
O give thanks unto The Lord for He is good. For His mercy endures forever”.

Hello Precious people of God.  November and Thanksgiving  has come and gone. We are already in the middle of December. Time seems to be moving differently. Many are so busy rushing to and fro. We do not have space in time in between the cooking, decorating, inviting, RSVPing, shopping, eating, and attending special services etc. etc. etc. to adequately thank God for his goodness and mercy.  IF YOU FORGOT TO THANK HIM, YOU CAN THANK HIM NOW.  Go ahead, thank God for the blood still running warm in your veins. Thank Him for sending His Son to be the sacrifice for our sin and to show us The Father. Thank Him for the uncountable blessings tucked away in His Grace and Mercy.  Hallelujah! Let everything that hath breath PRAISE THE LORD. O GLORY!

And even before the last of the Thanksgiving leftovers is consumed, we have Christmas decoration out and up.

We add to and delete names from our Christmas gift list. We decide on the menu. We participate in preparing food for people who are ‘less fortunate’ than us. We may go stand in line to receive that extra give away turkey. We may get gifts for our children’s teacher if we like them. We pull out and put up decoration in our yard, on the porch and in the house, maybe. We cook calorie load food, or not. We put up real Christmas trees or fake trees beautifully decorated. We anxiously anticipate what gifts we will receive, and experience anxiety when selecting gifts for significant others.  We suffer through the depression of missing that special person who has crossed over into Beaula Land (Heaven)   WOW.

In all the activity many of us has forgotten the celebrant We have forgotten that it is Jesus’ birthday, and sad to say, we have no gift for Him. The Bible tells us that Wise Men from the east embarked on a long arduous journey to find Him. They had the presence of mind to come bearing wonderful meaningful gifts for Him; frankincense, gold and myrrh.

I found an interesting and informative article: Why Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh Matter by Dwight Longenecker.  You (the reader) might be interested in reading it. But back to my subject; Thanksgiving/Christmas and Christians. I did not know this was the subject at the beginning.  Ha-ha

Maybe we have wonderful gifts for everyone but Jesus. I have given some thought to this quandary and dedicated some thought about the present I am going to give Jesus this Christmas. I have decided that it must be expensive. It must be exclusively His.  It must be something He will love and cherish. It must be everlasting. It must be something no one else can give Him. I am excited, I know what I can give Him.

I hope you, the reader, can find time to pick a good gift for Him as well.

God bless you Precious People of God. I will see you next year, God willing.
