“For unto us a child is born; unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace”. (Isaiah 9:6 KJV)
My apologies to anyone to whom it matters for not getting this Newsletter out in June. For the past 2 months I have been in the thick of battle with the world, the flesh, and the devil. My attention has been divided between these resources of the enemy and I was gathering data on the continued faithfulness of The Lord.
Isaiah 9:6 reminds us that God has gifted us with knowledge of The Everlasting Father, and the Counselor as well as the Prince of Peace. I don’t know how that translates to others, but that sounds like God, The Father, God, The son, and God,The Holy Spirit,
Of course, we know that the devil is trying to take away everything God has gifted us’. I have been empowered to use the Word of God to fend off his assaults. June has been busy, busy, busy for me. Activities surrounding Father’s Day, Juneteenth, my husband’s birthday, church meetings, doctor’s appointments, physical therapist’s appointments, responding to media, keeping my fellowship active with Father God…… etc. etc. etc. And remember I am an eighty-one year old child of God. I do not have a maid, and my gardener comes sometime and sometimes he doesn’t and I love gardening. Well, we can talk about that later.BUT GOD REMINDED ME OF WHO I WAS AND WHOSE I WAS.
When I look back and allow the Counselor to teach and enlighten me, I can understand that in June I had all the things I needed to fight the enemy. I understand that everything God gifted us, is FOR KEEPS. The devil cannot take It away, I have been very busy using the Word of God to fend off his assaults.
I did discover again that the Lord is a very present help in the time of trouble. I re-discovered that God is faithful, and that when we are weak He is strong.. I discovered that if we cast our cares on Him , The lord will sustain us. He will heal us. He will comfort us. He will protect us. Like David said the Lord is our shepherd. He is the Good Sheperd and will keep us in perfect peace.
Precious people, as I recall Jesus said as He left the disciples to sit at the right hand of the Father, “Peace be unto you”. Oh yes, I know that peace has been established.
Until next time Precious Ones, remain in His peace.
