TO GOD BE THE GLORY, THE HONOR, AND ALL THE PRAISE.

The Lord Is Our Deliverer

By Bobbie Jean Dicking …….

This past October, 2023 I turned eighty years old, and I am just hitting my stride, Praise the Lord God almighty Hallelujah! I am blessed to have a lot of living experiences from which to draw that is filled with the grace, mercy, and goodness of God. Welcome. I am honored and pleased that you took the time to spend listening to my writing.  This is my first blog on Mama Church Online. May Our Father be glorified.

There is so-o-o much to share before I go home. First let me tell you I am locked in and focused on prayer. The Lord told us to pray without ceasing, and to pray and not faint. He also shared with us, in the prayer we call “The Lord’s Prayer”, the template of a powerful requesting prayer; actually, we need look no further for what to say.

It would take a Seven Day Studying Workshop Seminar to begin to discover the richness of this Savior taught prayer. This time for my first blog, I want to confine myself to a portion of the request found in the 6th chapter of the gospel of Matthew the 13th verse. It is where Jesus taught us to request that we be delivered from evil.

The Bible mentions that there are times when men call evil good and good evil, so this request goes deeper than most of us consider.  The fact is many of us do not know what evil is.  We know the effects of evil better than we know what it is. Therefore, The Lord tutored us to request deliverance from evil. If we request it, Holy Spirit will deliver it.

We hear much about deliverance. There are deliverance ministries, deliverance prayers, deliverance conferences; it is certainly on my prayer list. It is evident that the saints are in a world where this request is of utmost importance. I believe the first candidate for deliverance is ourselves; you and me. First, we should bathe ourselves; cleanse ourselves of evilness. We must use the Word of God to flush out the spirits in us that have taken up resident while we were young, sleeping, ignorant, vulnerable, and exposed to the enemy’s attack.

David cried out,

Examine me O God, and know my mind; test me, and discover my thoughts. Find out if there is any evil in me and guide me in the everlasting way. And so, we must begin with the Word of God. Psalm 139:23-24

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2nd Timothy 3:16-17

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. 2nd Timothy 2:15

My personal favorite Scripture that speaks of the power of The Word of God to deliver is

For the Word of God is quick, and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12

When we study the Word of God, the Word of God studies us; it is like putting ourselves through a spiritual disease detector. The Word of God will expose places of evil lurking in our soul, much like a blood test, an x-ray, or a MRI, or anyone of the many test that doctors order to see what is causing sickness in our bodies. The Word and The Holy Spirit will deliver us from evil daily.

Yes, I do have literature that can assist you in discovering hidden strongholds in your mind that cause symptoms of behavior that denies you the joy of the abundant life which Jesus promised in the 10th chapter of The Gospel of John and the 10th verseThe thief cometh not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Deliverance from evil Precious Ones begins with us. Pray for it. If you call, He will answer.

Show us O Lord why, how, and where we are plagued with the evil influence of fear, hostility, hatred, envy, jealousy, greed, lust, murderous thoughts and actions, sleeplessness, laziness, and other ungodly spirits. Teach us your Word, Holy Spirit. Create in us a clean heart. Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Until next time…
