TO GOD BE THE GLORY, THE HONOR, AND ALL THE PRAISE.

He Is Risen

By Bobbie Jean Dicking . . . .

Here it is April, and I am just now getting my March Letter out to you all. My apologies. I was so busy attending to the things I needed to do I did not get a chance to write. I have been too busy to stop and write.

For twenty-one days in March, I had the opportunity and the responsibility to engage in prayer and fasting to celebrate the triumph of Jesus Christ on the cross with other members of my church.  For twenty-one days we sang, prayed, shared Scripture, and gave testimony about The Lord’s goodness and mercy toward us. It was a blessing to everyone.

Taking my granddaughter to school, attending to my household, attending meetings with my friends and rehearsing with a gospel group, being on a prayer conference line, and cooking, and shopping, and cleaning; well, you get the picture. I wore myself out and Momma would say. But, anyway…

Easter is an exciting time for me. I love to see Christians excited about the Son of God (Jesus) demonstrating the love of God for us on Calvary. He did say “If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me.” I am indeed drawn to such a love. I am so grateful for the grace and mercy freely given to me. I must admit I get a little upset when I see rabbits in the church mixing in the celebration with Jesus’s unspeakable gift.

It is comforting to know that Jesus did not leave us powerless. He left us with instructions to be filled up and charged with the Holy Spirit. Luke 24:49 Jesus said Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.

Then in Acts 1:4,5 Luke tells us more; 4) And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which”, He said, you have heard from Me; 5)”for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

Oh, how my soul leaps within me just thinking about the love of God in the gifts of His son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Lent, Good Friday, The Seven Last Sayings, Sunrise Service, and Easter Sunday, how spectacular! I wore a hat to church on Easter Sunday.

He is risen.
