TO GOD BE THE GLORY, THE HONOR, AND ALL THE PRAISE.

THE TWO MARCH CELEBRATIONS

2 Kings 22:14-15

13 “Go and inquire of the Lord for me and for the people and for all Judah about what is written in this book that has been found. Great is the Lord’s anger that burns against us because those who have gone before us have not obeyed the words of this book; they have not acted in accordance with all that is written there concerning us.”

14 Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Akbor, Shaphan and Asaiah went to speak to the prophet Huldah, who was the wife of Shallum son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe. She lived in Jerusalem, in the New Quarter.

15 She said to them, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Tell the man who sent you to me,

Hello Precious People of God,

I am amazed at the speed with which the days pass now. We are almost in the third week of March 2025. As usual take a peek at the celebrations or recognitions we observe in each calendar month and once again I am amazed at the number of tributes we give to various issues. As a Christian, I am situated in the world, but not of the world and I am often astonished at the focus of the celebrations.

Two March celebrations stood out for me. They are International Women’s Month and Harriet Tubman Day. I am a woman, and I am black; thus, my interest in those two targets for celebration. The presidential election is fresh in my mind also. It is my belief that a part of the reason Vice-President Harrison failed to win the presidency is because she is a woman. Many are not ready for a woman to lead America.

The Scripture put forth this month offers a quick glimpse into an occasion when Isreal had to call on a woman name Huldah to explain to the King what the Word of God said to the nation. I encourage you to go to the account of her contribution of enlightment to the king concerning the message of the lost book of the writings of God to better appreciate the importance of her ministry. Huldah’s message to the King was one of revelation, rebuke and encouragement.

Several years ago, I was a student in a Bible School to learn a better deeper way to understand the grace of God and I asked if one of the instructors knew of Huldah. To my surprise she replied that she did not. It appeared that others on this board of Christian educators had no knowledge of Huldah either.

I discovered in my research that Huldah was a contemporary of Jeremiah, Zephaniah, and perhaps Habakkuk. She sent a message to the then king, Josaih, which I believe was instrumental in sparking the great revival spear headed by the young king.

I celebrate Prophetess Huldah. She said what she said, and The Lord God did not allow her name and contribution to go unmentioned. O bless His name. I do hope this encourages the women who are called by God to not be intimidated by the rejection of those who try to discourage them from answering God’s call. It was very difficult in the 80’s for me to come forth in His name and at His calling, but I did in a very dramatic manner. Perhaps I will share with you soon.

So, until next time, precious ones, keep on being blessed to be a blessing.

Grace, Mercy, and Love,

Pastor Bobbie
