After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 29) Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. 30) So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit” – John 19:28 – 30
Father into thy hands I commend my spirit – Luke 23:46
Hello beloved people of God, as you can see from the date, I am communicating for both March and April. It seems that time is flying. I just celebrated what we call Easter and Resurrection Sunday. It was wonderful! Friends, I even made the Sacrament bread myself. I used it for the Momma Church message I do on Sundays at 8:00 AM. I also wore the shawl my daughter made for me. Being 82 now enables me to view the cross from a higher perspective than before.
The sacrifice that Jesus made on our behalf was more precious. I could see the mercy and grace up closer. I had the opportunity to attend one of the 7 last Sayings Services and be reminded of the agony of the cross. I presented a Sun Rise Service from Momma Church and observed the ritual of The Lord’s Supper or Communion as it is called in some Churches.
My Easter week was filled with paying close attention to the passion of Jesus Christ. God blessed me to be able to prepare a delicious meal for my husband, and I gave myself the title of “Best Cook in The World”. Of course, Iam joking, but it was delicious.
The Scriptures quoted above are the ones that stood out for me this time. Knowing that the work for my salvation was finished and that Jesus gave His spirit into God’s hands.
Easter came so quickly. Knowing that the same resurrection power is available to me, I plan to keep the spirit of The Resurrection afresh in my heart.
Now the month of March was a very challenging one for me. I was in and out of the hospital. I was diagnosed with AFIB in the hospital. When I went to the cardiologist, he said he did not see evidence of it at all.
“And said, if thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee” – Exodus 15:26
I wore a heart monitor for three days to determine what was going on with my excitable heart that kept giving distress signals. When I returned it to the doctor, he said he did not see any suspicious activity and that actually the 3 days weren’t enough to adequately determine anything. He suggested placing a long wire in my chest and monitoring it for 2 years. Of course, I had been praying that God would be the healer He said He was, and when He did, I completely forgot I’d asked Him and labeled the doctor as uncaring. It took about 7 days for our Father to whisper to my soul. Have you considered that I did just what you needed. I healed you for my purpose. There is much more to this story, but I cannot tell it all now. I can say this much…GOD IS A HEALER. WE NEED TO BE A HEALEE. I stand on Exodus 15:26.
GOD bless you and keep you until we meet again.
